I am mostly curious as to why someone would even use txt. html isn't much bigger, still human-readable in a text editor, and doesn't strip all the formatting!
Hm, now I'm wondering if FFF could be made to preserve formatting in txt format as markdown or something. Doubt it's worth the effort.
