Their web site shows stock at one of the stores here on the Central Coast (Erina) and three stores in the northern half of Sydney (Warriewood, Hornsby and Warringah Mall). I've never been able to work this out. It has happened a few times after a release. I don't think that JB HiFi orders many, but, it does appear that Kobo is a bit pessimistic about the numbers that will be sold the first few days after release.
