You vent and rant your way and I'll vent and rant mine. I don't think that suggesting Rumpelteazer call the chimney sweep instead of waiting for her parents to do so is being judgmental. Simply that, IMHO, rather than suffering from cold and, likely, health issues due to the cold, make that call.
Admitedlly, the last time I lived at home was when I was 16 and moved to a different city to start attending university so I may lack the mindset of someone who is still living at home. If I didn't take care of any issues that came up, there was no one else to do so. Well, when I lived in a co-op house for a while, there were theoretically others but most of them were pretty useless when it came to anything other than their school work and asking for extensions on paying their share of the rent and utilities.
