According to EBook Reader (hope I got the name right) the GL4 has the "new" (I'm guessing Carta 1200) screens.

So that's another plus.

EDIT:
You're right. It all adds up. I got it in my head that it was going to be waterproof (not something I really care about, but know you (and others) do. From my perspective, it's probably easier to replace the battery if it's NOT water proof.
