Karellen, you receive an email only once from a thread that you're subscribed to. That is, until you log into mobileread again you won't receive another email notification for that particular thread.
You are auto subscribed to a thread if you post in that thread, unless you go the controls at the top of the thread and unsubscribe
I agree re pinging someone with the @, it would be a handy attribute
