When I grab pid 1, I can fill ram (tmpfs) with data, and md5sum tmfps and filesystem in a loop, to stress cpu, storage, and test ram and everything is fine. It runs without error.

If I attempt the same whilst nickel is running, nickel crashes and bye bye reboot it goes.

Not sure what is triggering the instability, I have found no reliable way to reproduce any issue other than nickel itself randomly segfaulting and rebooting.
So far I've had one weird reboot once, while it was importing books I'd just sent over with Calibre (I'm sending them over in 500-book batches). It was importing them very slowly and at the halfway point it suddenly rebooted and was very slow at startup. I had to connect and disconnect it from Calibre to trigger the import process for the other half of the books I'd sent, and then restart it again to make the 'sluggishness' go away. After that it went cmpletely back to normal and following batches were sent and imported as quickly as expected.
