Where are you seeing this? In calibre or on the device? What you say sounds like what has always been displayed in the Series column in the list. Or at least that is what my memory says. Elsewhere, the series name and index can be displayed in different ways.
But, if you this is only new books added to the calibre since the update, and you mention the title, it could be that the configuration for adding books has changed. This would most likely be that on the "Adding books" page of the preferences that the regular expression for parsing the file name has changed. There are several supplied and you can enter your own. If you have one that is not separating the series info from the file name, this could cause what I think you are seeing.
