I think there have always been issues when loading large numbers of books in single batches. I don't do it enough to work it out. Except when loading a new device, it don't add more than 10 very often and adding 50 is very rare. But, you shouldn't have needed to send anything else to restart the importing. The device checks for changes in books compared to the database whenever it is ejected. This has caught me out a few times I had a text file on one of my devices that was larger than they will import. But, it triggered the import process each time. It took me longer than I care to admit to work out what was happening.
