However, the problem is that you still end up having a claim on your policy. Now, as a condo owner, WDE is actually a secondary insured under the condo association policy (assuming he's an owner ... not so sure about the status of renters).
The only reason I know anything about this at all is that I was the president of my condo association back in San Diego. We had to deal with claims against the association policy all the time for damages caused by common area problems.
Example, underground parking, pipe breaks and drips rusty water onto very nice convertible. Covered under our policy.

USAA takes the stand that they have a lot more time and skill in getting the gelt out of other insuracne companies than I do, so they will make the payment to me and them sick their legion of undead lawyers on the other party on my behalf. I've never had an increase in premium from something not my fault.
