Patch or no, when you rotate the reader the button positions switch. So if, say, the bottom button was page forward and you switch hands the bottom button should remain page forward.

I have an old model Nook Glowlight Plus with the white screen border and I do really like it.
Though to be honest, when reading the Nook's white border and the Clara's back border both fade away equally well.
