Yes, the flexible screens that are now starting to enter production should greatly increase the resiliance of these devices.

I always keep my CyBook in its case, which provides quite reasonable protection. I often fall asleep at night while reading, and wake up in the morning to find the CyBook on the floor. It must have survived literally dozens of such falls. I certainly wouldn't like to risk that with the "bare" CyBook.
