My Sage arrived today. I haven't had the time to play with it properly, but my initial impressions are:
  • Ergonomics: Remarkably thin and light for its size. Not as light as my first gen. Libra, but still pretty comfortable to hold.
  • Contrast: much better than the Libra 1. About the same as my Oasis 3.
  • Frontlight: not good. Much dimmer than both the Oasis and the Libra 1, and without the warm light has a noticeable greenish cast. Also it's quite uneven and noticeably brighter on the button side. Still, you can see the unevenness only in a dark room, which is not how I normally read, so it doesn't bother me.
  • The bezel is a fingerprint magnet, unlike the Libra 1.
  • The pen: my Surface pen works perfectly. Converting handwriting to printed text also works perfectly, and my handwriting is very rusty these days.
I took some photos, but my phone automatically corrects colors, so I'm not sure how lifelike they are. I'll post a couple of them later.

All in all, I'm not jubilant, but not really disappointed either.
