Someone PM'd a similar comment, an option I haven't used in years and didn't realize it worked this way now to resolve the KFX format issue. If I use the download/transfer via USB option--it's one book at a time, but hey, it's a solution--then each file is downloaded as AZW3 and can be imported to Calibre and PW5. I don't really care about KFX per se, just the content, so for my case that's perfect, problem solved. I was using "Send to device" and bulk sending from my Kindle account, but that was just re-sending original KFX format, and obviously as we saw, in Calibre Alf's plugin can't handle that format yet on the newest devices and firmware. So this is the best workaround I can see, for someone on a PW5 that wants to easily get KFX content into Calibre.
