I should have bought the warranty what with my propensity for spilling drinks on electronic devices (my ancient iBook has survived lemonade, coffee, and beer this year alone) but sadly my husband ordered my Kindle as a birthday present and didn't think to get the warranty until the 30 day period was up. Guess I'm taking my chances with this one.
