Medical Books on Kindle
Medical Books on the Kindle don't work too well. I suppose text books may be OK but if you are in practice, like me (ER), a PDA is more useful. I use something I got from Dell that runs windows mobile and is branded "Socket." I think I paid like $650 for it but I've tried different Windows Mobile and Palm PDAs and the Socket is the only one that is robust enough never to crash or let me down when I needed an instant drug reference from Epocrates or Sanford Guide, or an algorithm from ER Suite. Kindle info is simply not fast enough for rapid access to such critical information. I know some people are using Epocrates for Iphones and other smart phones, which will some day completely supplant PDAs.
Reading books at leisure (mostly historical and science non-fiction in my case) is much better on the Kindle though! (Previously I read Ereader.com books on my PDA.)
