Much as I do enjoy Jon being corrected, I think this might be an instance where his dogged determination to ignore outliers (meaning anyone who doesn’t do as he does) actually resulted in a correct response.

Well, the person who complained about the issue said they were still waiting for it to be fixed. I took it to mean they had been waiting for a while already and were not aware about the existence of the patch. I don't know which device on which firmware they have, as they have no recent Kobo device listed on their profile.
Yes, if they have the Elipsa or one of the latest Kobos, they're pretty much screwed for now, unfortunately.
