If it's not the power cover, I'd say you made a wise decision. I've had 3 different Kobos, all with Shenzhen ebay/alibaba covers, no issues at all, and each cover less than half the price Kobo wanted for their (almost certainly Shenzhen-sourced) "official" cover.
