I do know one person who uses calibre to clean up metadata, do any edits, etc. but then uses save to disk to save them outside calibre. She does not like the idea that a program is forcing her to use it's directory structure when she can arrange her files in a "superior" fashion and calibre is "so slow" compared to her ability to browse a directory structure.
