Aldiko

I started reading e-books on a Kobo Vox and settled on Aldiko as my go-to reader. When Kobo changed ownership, dropped support for the Vox and my tablet finally crashed and bricked itself, I continued using Aldiko on a cheapie Android tablet. I next upgraded to an Amazon Fire 7 tablet with a nicer screen and modified it to use Google Play and its apps so could have Aldiko.

The Aldiko version I had was 3.1.3, the latest, when it unexpectedly got updated to Aldiko Next without my permission, removing all my books. Aldiko Next is terrible with far fewer useful features and I was ready to find another reader until I saw Aldiko Classic on Google Play, which I downloaded after removing Aldiko Next. It's the old 3.1.3 version and hopefully won't get downgraded to Aldiko Next.
