Yep, no real change made yet in the land of Kobos. I honestly think, for a 6' reader, the Clara is pretty good as is. Maybe a waterproof version of it (since folks seem to like that feature and it's becoming the "norm").

As for Amazon, I don't know what sales figures they could have been going by, since this is their first 6.8" reader. As it is, I think the 6" Paperwhite was their best seller by a large margin. But, since the bezels were pretty large on the 6" Paperwhites, going to 6.8" (with thinner bezels) and yet ending up with a reader pretty close to the same size is probably a no-brainer for them.

I don't think they have to get rid of the Nia — just drop its price by $20, or at least by $10 and making it truly attractive for those on a budget. As it is there's no reason to go cheaper when the Clara often goes on sale for the same price as the Nia (which hardly ever goes on sale).

One thing none of the new Kobos or Kindles have is the microSD slot mentioned by koboy. Personally I still think the PocketBook Touch HD3 is a pretty great reader, light with a great screen. (The microSD slot is not important for me, but I realize others feel differently).
