Base 12 and Base 60 are superior to Base 10. Both are better when it comes to fractions since both have many composite factors that allows you to represent more fractions with a numeric point without repeating numbers.
1/3 is in:
Base 10 = 0.333333333...
Base 12 = 0.4
Base 60 = 0.2
However, Base 12 is more able to be comprehended by humans. With Base 60, you'd have to memorize 60 individual symbols while with Base 12 you only have to memorize 12 individual symbols. It is the same issue that existed with cuniform writing (hundreds of symbols to memorize).
Writing about ancient writing using a modern writing system win.
