I've really liked Gail Bowen's Joanne Kilbourn series since I picked up a few paperbacks while on a business trip to Canada many years ago. I had never seen a paperback - or hardcover - of hers in the US, although they may have existed. (They do require a bit of understanding, or willingness to learn, about the Canadian political system, since Kilbourn is a professor of political science and very politically active.)
In any case, I was happy when her e-books started becoming available in the US, and there are some omnibuses of early titles in the series that occasionally go on sale and make those early titles reasonably priced. Sadly, however, her middle-of-series titles tend to be rather absurdly priced at $11.99 and up, which is IMO kind of nuts for titles that are mostly years old. But I don't set the prices.
Now this morning, I got an email from Kobo Canada indicating that Bowen's newest title,
An Image in the Lake, is on sale for one day only, today, for CAD$2.99. And when I went to take a look at it, I found that the two previous most recent titles are also fairly reasonably priced at CAD$3.99 and CAD$4.99 each. I have no idea if these other two prices are also today only, or more long-term.
