  • It is a fact, that the Oasis 2 tried to continue this concept.
  • It is a fact, that the Oasis 2 failed a this concept, because of massive design flaws. (Too weak magnets, that could not hold the detachable cover securely. Slippery metal back, etc.)
  • It is a fact, that Amazon did not bother to fix these problems and discontinued the detachable cover instead.
  • It is a fact, that as a result of these problems, the Oasis 2 is neither particulary lightweight nor particulary ergonomic anymore.
  • It is a fact, that Amazon has not touched the Oasis design ever since. (With the "Oasis 3" being almost 100% identical, except for a few colored LEDs...)
  • It is a fact, that after ingoring the Oasis for 4 years, Amazon gave most of its features to the Paperwhite, at $100 cheaper.

Based on these facts, it is my opinion, that there won't be another Oasis.

The concept is not viable anymore, Amazon has given no indication, that they are still interesested in it and with the introduction of the new Paperwhite, there are little arguments left for it.

Counter arguments we have collected so far:

- But I like it!!!
- Page-turn buttons!!!
- The Oasis mated with another Oasis and magically evolved on its own!!!
Once more:

It is your opinion that the current Oasis is not lightweight or ergonomic. It is not a fact. Also it is your opinion that it has massive design flaws, not a fact. (I couldn't care less about a detachable cover and in fact never bought or used one with either Oasis 2 or Oasis 3; and more than one people in this thread have said they like the metal back.)

Personally I consider the current Oasis to be both lightweight and ergonomic. That you don't, doesn't make your opinion a fact.
