@BetterRed: following your example I see the focus changing to the grid view button, so "space" will push that button.
I am looking at how to keep Tab and Backtab from moving the focus out of the tab browser once it has the focus. I don't think this will break anything, and it is the only way I can see to prevent the Qt moving the focus wherever it wants.
