The screen of the PW3, Kobo Libra, Kobo H2O original are all clearer/sharper and brighter without front light than the PW4. I've compared side by side in overcast daylight, LED filament/stick (4W) and halogen (75W) room lamps.
With the front light on and no room lighting the PW4 can be same brightness but is still less sharp! Note the Kobo H2O original is actually lower resolution.
