This anthology (45th in the series) of stray short stories is largely from Weird Tales and Tales of Mystery and Terror. Henry S Whitehead is a find: he was an Espiscopal/Anglican priest living in Fredericksted, St Croix, for a decade, beginning shortly after the USA bought the former Danish West Indian colonies and renamed them the US Virgin Islands in 1917. He was keenly interested in the West Indian religious and occult beliefs, and wrote a number of stories based on them.
