I was able to replicate the weird visual glitching in a test library in a portable Calibre with only AC and VM.
Attached is my chain and the metadata.db of the library.
Assuming it's not an issue specific to my Windows environment, using View Manager's toolbar button to change views or using Re-Apply Current View should result in it switching between all available views and the tabs disappearing then reappearing.
It's more of an annoyance than anything serious - though considering I use re-apply sometimes to reset after changing sorts or something it does crop up a bit.
