They are valid for some people, but not for others. I haven't felt the slightest urge to read paper books in the last 10 years. So no, the author is not correct to say ebooks are worse than paper for everyone.

And as has been already said, most people have never seen an ereader. Of course they say they prefer paper. I would too, if eink didn't exist.
