FYI, Jack Kilborn is J.A. (Joe) Konrath's pseudonym. I've read a lot of Joe's work, both his Lt. Jacqueline Daniels series (Whiskey Sour, etc.), as well as his horror stuff. I think he's quite talented, and I'm stoked to start
Afraid. Be warned that he doesn't shy away from blood and guts when working in the horror genre - I wouldn't classify his work as "extreme" horror, but it's certainly unflinching.
YMMV, of course.
