Thank goodness for manual / ability to disable, updates.

Not every system behaves. (Not every ereader device does either)

Not everyone want to lose a favorite feature or use of older (working) hardware that comes with some OS updates.

The fiasco with bad CC updates makes me that I did not have the Auto mode turned on.

And come on , how hard is it to do the Get Updates sequence .
Click the notification, click the Update button, wait for the download page to load. depending on your connection speed: <get a cuppa> or launch the update then go for the cuppa. Between having A Cable connection and a SSD, I can't make it to the kitchen and back before the task is done.

Of course, I did grow up with 300baud dial up, dot matrix printers and floppy only IBM PC so my tolerance for all this speed may be skewed
