Welcome Ana. I have the Sony PRS-500 (not as good as the 505 from what I hear) and the EZ Reader (essentially a Hanlin V3 with Astak's firmware which I replaced with OpenInkPot). I much prefer the EZ Reader (aka Hanlin V3). It is more versatile and there are several places to get slightly different firmware (Mobiebook.com - Astak's site, Jinke.com - Hanlin's site & BeBook, as well as Openinkpot.org - an open source firmware). Since the hardware is the same, the firmware is interchangeable.
The only drawback with Openinkpot is it does not handle any DRM but since all my ebooks are DRM free, that's not a problem. Bottom line between the Hanlin & the Sony is "Which DRM or DRM free formats will your ebooks be in?" Once you answer that, your choice should follow logically.
Good luck.
