Amazon's Kindle platform has limited support for MathML (see here), but it is not actually implemented in a way that makes it usable in published books since it only works with Enhanced Typesetting and there is no fallback. MathJax and LaTeX are unsupported.

At this point the only real workable solution for equations on Kindle is as images.
