Sorry if I'm hijacking this thread to some, but after a lot of searching I can't seem to find a definitive idea of what to expect...

I have a Kobo on the way to replace a deceased Sony. I read books in Spanish on it, selecting ES - EN as the default dictionary for the device, which worked very well. I have a Kindle, which recognizes a Spanish book, giving English definitions upon tapping. How does Kobo handle that? Must I select English as a "destination" translation for each word individually selected? Also, does it make a difference whether the book has been sideloaded?

Many thanks!
