That's an advanced topic.

You need to write there settings that will be applied to all documents within a folder.

My suggestion for users that don't know the names of settings yet would be:

1. start by a single book and tweak it as you want
2. open its metadata and copy the book settings.
3. use these settings as a template for your own tweaks
4. test the plugin with a new document without previous settings applied.

IMHO the plugin is useful to manage collections of documents that share some specs (ie: 2 column pdfs/ wikipedia articles / documentation ...). For most users this plugin is useless and they will get better results just by appliying their wanted overrides on all documents.
