Except for very rare circumstances (which haven't happened so far), if a patch applies correctly, it will not cause issues.

Most of those patches have already been updated and tested (see my link to get them). The release is blocked on figuring out what to do with the font patches.

P.S. @davidfor: Sorry about not releasing the patches yet, indirectly resulting in the clutter in this thread; they're already mostly finished, but I haven't had time to sort out the font size/scale stuff yet.
