All mentions of Dark Mode seemed to also mention Nickle Menu, so I thought maybe it was a feature of Nickle Menu rather than something Kobo themselves was rolling out. I don't use Nickle Menu, so am unfamiliar with what it does and does not do.

Right on. Thank you for the clarification. I didn't care for invert screen, because it inverted EVERYTHING. Dark Mode sounds more my style.

Activating developer options gave me access to Invert Screen, rather than messing with the config file. So I'm wondering if now, Dark Mode will just show up instead.

That's understandable. I'll probably try it for fun. But I'm fine with sticking with the black on white with amber lighting.
