I'm pretty sure this is a one-off. Something in the underlying libraries has changed that caused this during the update. It was something that happened in the beta's and we were warned about. But, it didn't happen with the release candidate except for my Touch. There was probably some uncommon combination of circumstances that meant the screen wasn't updated cleanly.
