Trouble adding a book

HI,

I'm running Calibre 4.22.0 under Fedora 31.

I'm having trouble adding a book from a directory on my local disk. The directory contains:

leframe.htm ng03.htm ng07.htm ng11.htm ng15.htm ng19.htm ng-m.jpg
ng00.htm ng04.htm ng08.htm ng12.htm ng16.htm ng20.htm ng-vs.jpg
ng01.htm ng05.htm ng09.htm ng13.htm ng17.htm ng21.htm toc.htm
ng02.htm ng06.htm ng10.htm ng14.htm ng18.htm ng.htm

The toc.htm file contains links to the ng##.htm files, in order.

<a href=ng00.htm>Intro</a>
<a href=ng01.htm>Chapter 1</a>
<a href=ng02.htm>Chapter 2</a>
<a href=ng03.htm>Chapter 3</a>
snip
<a href=ng19.htm>Chapter 19</a>
<a href=ng20.htm>Chapter 20</a>
<a href=ng21.htm>Chapter 21</a>

Used to be, if I recall correctly, I could do "Add books from a single directory" and specify the toc.htm file. This would get me a zip file with all the ng##.htm files and the toc, and the resulting zip was perfect to covert to epub.

Now, for some reason, when I do this, my zip file contains hundredds of files from the directories ABOVE the one containing my files. (These are directories for other books)

Reading the documentation really doesn't go into (or I can't find) anything that says how to feed a single book into the add books operation.

How am I supposed to be doing this? A good pointer to other doc would also help.

Thanks,
Ed
