Thanks--appreciate that. So @theducks, even a NAS or some sort of LAN system is dangerous? Argh. Running out of room. Think I need to create an "archive" library and move some stuff out.

Interesting that Dropbox appears to be, for many, a solution, but per your answer, even that prob wouldn't do it.
