Yes and no. The jailbreak still works so long as your device is under 5.13.3. However, newer devices fresh from the factory tend to be updated to a later firmware (at least that's what I'm hearing).
Unless you can guarantee buying an old stock, a few people have recommended a kobo for all your tinkering needs.
