If I don't have any orders on the way, I've learned to delete all notifications without even listening to them. Saves me the trouble of getting mad about them.
But at least you're getting author/book related stuff! I don't get them very often, but when I do, they're almost always about whether it's time to reorder something I usually have no intention of ever reordering.
