All the images I have are taken from devices after a factory reset. If the WiFi is not connecting, it is usually an external cause. If it happens after entering the WiFi password, it usually means access to the site the device uses to check the WiFi is up is blocked. Or, the firmware on the device is old enough that it doesn't support the current security protocols. The firmware for the Glo HD shouldn't have a problem with the latter.

For the PC to see the device, you need to tell the device to connect. When starting the setup, that means choosing the option to use the PC to do the setup. Again, if it doesn't connect, it use usually something about the connection.

But, have you done a factory reset with the image? That can fix a lot of strange problems after using it. It forces a cleanup and reinstall of the base firmware which may solve this.
