Amazon has released Kindle for Mac version 1.32. This release removes the renderer-test program, so it will no longer be possible to prevent KFX downloads by blocking that program from running.

Perhaps a new method will be found for disabling KFX, but until then avoid the new version of Kindle for Mac if you want to be able to import books into calibre.
