These are on sale very frequently - the collected volumes less so.
Volume 1 (containing books 1-3) was $1.99 in
December. Maybe wait for it to go on sale again, if you're not in a hurry to read it.
The first book Swords and Deviltry is usually on sale for $1.99 several times a year. I'd suggest waiting on that as well.
Also note that Shadowland is an "authorized sequel".
