Since the displays are very different, it seems unlikely that K2 bins will work with any of the 3 DX models.

For newer kindles, older firmwares can be downloaded by editing the firmware number portion of the URL for the latest version. Maybe that works for the DX if you can find out what the older firmware versions are. Looking at old DX threads on mobileread would be a good place to start.
