I thought I'd update my KT3 to firmware 5.12.4 (from 5.9.2.1) after reading the tutorial on jailbreaking on "modern" devices, so I did. The problem is that this version seems to force updates, which I don't want. Then, I came across the RenameOTABin method of blocking the upgrades.

I don't want to use this method if I can't be 100% sure it will block updates, because if it downloads an update (which will probably be the firmware 5.13.5+, which doesn't support this jailbreak) it will be "Game Over" and I won't be able to use the jailbreak (I don't want to buy another one).

I would like to ask preferably people who have used it.
