Sorry to hear about your negative experiences trying to get a Nova 3 Color device. Glad to hear that you were at least able to get your money back.

As for your conclusion that the screens on such devices are poor/rubbish, I would beg to differ. I am quite pleased with the screen on my N3C. No bright spots on my device. Nor did I have to go through multiple returns to get a properly functioning device. Mine worked perfectly straight out of the box.

As the supplier communicated to you, it seems that they may have gotten a bad batch of devices. That does not mean that ALL N3C screens will be bad. Just the ones in that batch or any subsequent bad batches.

Don't know much about Kindles as I have never owned one. However, I have had a few Kobos. I got the Kobo Aura One when it first came out. Was very pleased with the size and the warm light. Mine worked perfectly straight out of the box. However, I soon started to see that people were complaining about splotchy lighting on their KA1 devices.

Seems that Kobo initially had some quality control issues with a batch or batches of the KA1 devices. I gather that they eventually resolved the issue. I would assume that Boox will also resolve the issue with their bad batch of N3C devices.

Although it is not without its shortcomings, I can assure you that my N3C is a quality device with a good screen. I am very pleased with it. The slight bit of colour makes reading maps and books/manga with colour a true pleasure.

I wonder when a large screen colour Kindle device will ever be released...
