This is exactly what is continuing to happen to me. I don't have this issue on my old Macbook Pro (2010 mid).

On my new Macbook Air (2020; M1 chip), the problem started maybe 1-2 weeks ago.

I disabled my adblock extensions on Fireforx - no joy. Same with Safari.

INTERESTINGLY, before the above problem started (or before I became aware of it), on Firefox I couldn't access the 'Look Inside' feature to view the contents of ebooks. Now that issue has seemingly disappeared. And yet, while I still had that problem on Firefox, I had no issue on Safari.

But, I still have that issue of not getting my downloads using both web browers.
