Davidfor has addressed a lot of your issues already, so I won't add to what he's said. HOWEVER, I, too, ran into an Elipsa database corruption issue. (Ghost eBook Purchase on an Elipsa
https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=340260) It can be maddening to say the least. I don't know if you have been a previous Kobo owner or not, but I have owned multiple Kobos and have never run into the problems I ran into with my Elipsa. You can read the thread and see the nightmare I went through. Every time I factory reset I had a new problem. So now I am shipping it off to Kobo and getting a replacement. Obviously, my Elipsa was defective.
There's something else you can try that I didn't see David mention. If you type "devmodeon" in the system search on your Elipsa, you will enable developer tools that can be found at the bottom of Device Information in settings. There is a factory reset option there, too. It's a full factory reset that takes your Elipsa back to the firmware your Elipsa shipped with. This deeper reset may resolve your database issue if you have already logged out of your Elipsa and relogged back in with no improvement.
