Thanks for confirming, and for explaining about the renderer.

Leaves me with a bit of a quandary: I really really prefer the kepubs the extended plugin sideloads to the regular epubs of the standard driver. (In other words, I much prefer Kobo's homegrown renderer.)

But the extended plugin isn't very good for bulk sideloading. I'll have to do the hundreds of books in batches again, trying out every time how many the computer, or Calibre, or whatever, can handle.

I've had the Ellipsa more than a week, but so far it feels like I've spent more time getting books on it the way I want it than actually reading the thing. And I'm *not* a Kobo newbie. (At most a bit of a Kobo el stupido, maybe.)
